Date and Time: 5 Days 9:30 to 16:30, July 5,6,13,19 and 20
Location: Unit 8, Ballycummin Village, Raheen, Limerick
Cost: €600 with Skillnet funding (€750 without Skillnet funding)
Programme Description:
All Manual Handling Instructors must be qualified to QQI Level 6 to deliver courses in Ireland. This course the covers legislation, Anatomy, Ergonomics, Risk Assessment, and Skills for Trainers.
This Manual Handling Instructor course will equip the participants with the skills to develop and competently deliver their own manual handling training course and will gain a QQI Level 6 Award.
Course Content:
- Day One: Legislation Requirements, Health Benefits and Introduction to Risk Management.
- Day Two: Anatomy, Back Care, Manual Handling Principles and Technique.
- Day Three: Ergonomic Principles and Risk Assessment.
- Day Four: Planning and Design of Manual Handling Training Programmes.
- Day Five: Assessment in Presentation, Theory & Practice.
Course Requirements:
Participants must be physically able to participate in practical element of the course. The practical element of the course includes lifting, pushing and pulling items as per a standard manual handling training course.
Learning Outcome: Participants on successful completion of this course will receive a QQI Level 6 qualification in Manual Handling Instruction
