Power Drives and Purposeful Partnerships: Flynn Leads the Charge at the 2025 Limerick Chamber Golf Classic
Sunshine, sponsorship, and a strong sense of community defined this year’s Limerick Chamber Golf Classic at Limerick Golf Club. The day was a celebration of our members and our community, from those who took time out to enjoy a round of golf with colleagues and peers, to the companies who generously supported the event. A special thanks to our main sponsor Flynn, our valued tee sponsors, and all the fantastic teams who registered to play. Your support and energy made the day one to remember.
At the helm of this year’s event was Flynn, our Principal Sponsor, Flynn are a global force in construction and development and have been instrumental in a number of builds throughout the region. Flynn’s decision to lead this initiative speaks volumes about their belief in the Mid-West, their commitment to meaningful partnership, and their desire to invest where roots matter both locally and regionally.
Conor McMahon, Associate Director at Flynn, captured the day’s energy perfectly:
“Being at the centre of this year’s Golf Classic allowed us to do more than just sponsor, it let us support a community we deeply value. Being present matters, whether we are on-site or on the fairway, Showing up matters. When businesses take the time to support these local events, they are investing in the region’s future. It’s about backing the people, the communities, and the networks that drive growth from the ground up. This kind of participation builds more than connections, it strengthens the fabric of the Mid-West, and at Flynn this is what we are all about.”
The Limerick Chamber Golf Classic is not just a day out it’s a reflection of our member community in action. From interns to senior managers, micro-enterprises to multinationals, and every sector in between, this event brings together people who share a common passion: this region and its future. Whether connecting in the clubhouse, on the course, or through the support of sponsors and tee sponsors, the day celebrates the diversity and collaboration that define our region. This is what the Mid-West looks like when it works together, and it’s that spirit that fuels innovation, resilience, and progress. With our principal sponsor Flynn, and 26 tee sponsors backing the day, the course became a tapestry of enterprise, showcasing the diversity, depth, and dynamism of our community. These sponsors weren’t just names on a sign; they are the reason the Classic came to life.
Michelle Gallagher, CEO of Limerick Chamber, said:
“What really stood out wasn’t the sunshine or the scores, but how everyone rolled up their sleeves, leaned in, and made it happen together. From our board and Chamber team to the clubhouse staff, tee sponsors, main sponsor Flynn, and every team that turned up to play there was a real sense of shared purpose. That’s what the Chamber has always been about, connecting people, businesses, and ideas that help the region thrive. Events like this reflect our history of collaboration and community within the chamber and they remind us exactly what’s possible for the Mid-West’s future.”
From the moment teams arrived, there was a real sense of community spirit, with businesses of all sizes taking part, not just to play, but to connect and contribute. Generous prizes added to the excitement, with everything from golf gear and footwear from the pro shop to fine dining experiences at Cornstore and Coqbull, and luxury overnight stays in some of Ireland’s top hotels. For one lucky team, a fourball at the prestigious K Club, which also includes a full dining experience raised the stakes even higher. But more than the prizes, it was the atmosphere of collaboration that made the day special. Events like this show how powerful our regional business community can be when we come together, supporting each other, celebrating one another, and helping the Mid-West continue to thrive.
The Golf Classic is not just about sport; it is about strengthening the ties that hold our business community together. It created space for members to step away from the day-to-day, connect in a relaxed setting, and invest time in building relationships that matter. What makes the Limerick Chamber community stand out is the focus on collaboration over competition, the intention behind every sponsorship, and a shared commitment to seeing the Mid-West succeed. From long-time members to first-time attendees, the day was a reminder that doing business here is rooted in people, in community, connection, and a belief in the region’s future.
Mairead Connolly, President Limerick Chamber:
“Being able to offer the Golf Classic during my presidency was an opportunity for members to enjoy a great day of sport and connection, it was a fantastic way for us to create space for members to really see each other. To share who they are, what they do, and where they’re going. Time and again, we saw businesses actively seeking opportunities to connect, collaborate, and support each other’s goals. That kind of awareness and intentional engagement is what strengthens our community, and it is something I’ve been proud to help foster this year.”
The success of the Limerick Chamber Golf Classic is down to the people and businesses who showed up and made it matter. To Flynn, thank you for leading from the front and recognising the importance of investing locally. To our 26 tee sponsors, your support brought colour, energy, and personality to every corner of the course. To our prize sponsors, your generosity added an extra layer of excitement and appreciation for all involved. And to the teams who registered, played, laughed, and connected, you are the heartbeat of this event. Your presence is what makes the Golf Classic more than a tournament; it’s what makes it a tradition worth building on.
