About the President’s Award 2025

The President’s Award Dinner is a celebration of achievements within the regional business community throughput the year and the work being undertaken in Limerick to support member’s ambition.

I am delighted to announce this year’s President’s Award recipient, honouring a person who embodies the spirit of community, who has immensely impacted Limerick and the Mid West.

Professor Vincent Cunnane is an outstanding contributor to the region,
it is a great honour and privilege on behalf of myself and the Limerick Chamber
to name Professor Vincent Cunnane as the recipient of the 2025 President’s Award.

“An outstanding contributor to the region, from his leadership of Shannon Development over 5 years, to promoting inward investment in the region, to his appointment as Chief Executive of the MidWest Taskforce chaired by Denis Brosnan, equalled with his service to Aviation Business Development Task Force on the future of Shannon Development and Shannon Airport and serving on the Limerick Reorganisation implementation Group, charged with merging Limerick City and County Councils”

“His current journey is now leading the Limerick Institute of Technology, through to University status, now with 15,500 full time students and 1,500 staff across 7 campuses.”
