11 January 2015: Limerick Chamber President, Catherine Duffy, presented a cheque worth €4,000 to Máire O’ Leary, CEO, St Gabriel’s School and Centre. The money was raised through contributions to a raffle by guests at the Limerick Chamber President’s Dinner in November.
St. Gabriel’s is dedicated to providing education and a range of health therapies and clinical intervention programmes to children and young adults with multiple physical and/or sensory disabilities across the mid-west region.
Presenting the cheque, Catherine Duffy said, “St Gabriel’s provides tremendous support and improves the lives of hundreds of children with multiple physical disabilities and their families. I hope this donation will assist the invaluable services they provide. ”
Accepting the cheque, Máire O’ Leary, St Gabriel’s CEO said, “We are very grateful for this donation. It will support the building of our much-needed Children’s Respite House near Mungret village. When built it will provide short term residential breaks for children where their complex medical needs are cared for in a ‘home from home setting’.”
“I would like to thank Catherine Duffy for choosing St Gabriel’s and the Chamber’s members and guests who so generously supported the raffle. This donation will allow us to provide a better quality of life for some families,” she concluded.
