Business community engages in Limerick 2030 Consultation Process

Limerick Chamber hosted a presentation of the Limerick 2030 plan on 16 July for local business leaders as part of the public consultation process.

Tom Enright, Director of Economic Planning and Development at the Limerick Local Authority, presented details of the ambitious plan to Limerick Chamber members and outlined how it will guide the economic, social and physical revival of Limerick City centre.

During the meeting, attendees representing nearly all business sectors were able to ask questions and share their views of the plan.

Speaking at the event, Dr Fergal Barry, President of Limerick Chamber, said, “This is the most important plan that has been produced for our city and region.  It sets out an ambitious and innovative development plan that will change the look and economy of Limerick.  It is important that the businesses of Limerick are informed and have their say on what happens to their city.”

“Delivery and implementation of the plan will require a combined effort by all public, private and voluntary bodies in the region. To highlight our commitment to the process Limerick Chamber is proud to be one of the signatories on the Limerick Charter. And we look forward to supporting the consultation process and moving the plan towards implementation speedily,” Dr Barry continued.

Limerick Chamber will make a submission to the Local Authority as part of the consultation process which will reflect the views of members aired today.
