27 February 2013: Chambers Ireland has welcomed the decision of the European Commission to reject Ryanair’s proposal to increase its stake in Aer Lingus..
Speaking this afternoon, Seán Murphy, Chambers Ireland Deputy Chief Executive and Chambers Ireland Air Transport Users Council Spokesperson, said “Chambers Ireland has campaigned extensively for this outcome which is the best result for Irish business. Any merger between Ryanair and Aer Lingus would be anti-competitive and could have led to increased costs for business and consumers as well as a reduction in connectivity to major markets.”
