The Bridging the Digital Skills Gap: Empowering SMEs for the Future event will bring together business leaders, educators, project partners, and policy makers to explore how SMEs can be better supported in their digital transformation journeys. It will also present the Project EAGLE Recommendations, offering practical insights to inform future digital skills strategies

Background

This event sees University of Limerick (UL) host the final conference of Project EAGLE, an EU-funded initiative under the Digital Europe Programme, bringing together academic, industry, and training partners to celebrate the project’s achievements and explore future strategies for SME digital transformation.  The project, coordinated by Universidad de Burgos and supported in Ireland by UL and Skillnet Ireland, developed specialised training to help SMEs address digital skills gaps in areas such as Ethical AI, Robotics, Data Analytics, Blockchain, and Cybersecurity.     

Highlights Include

  • Keynote on ‘AI and Supply Chains – Practical Insights for SMEs’ by Tim Crowe, CEO,  WorxFlo
  • Panel discussion on how industry, academia, and training networks can collaborate to support SME digital transformation.

Panel speakers: Prof Martin Hayes (Academic Lead for the UL@Work Project), Michelle Guthrie (Development Advisor, Skillnet Ireland), Kevin Geary (Director of Engineering & Strategic Projects, Croom Medical), Shirley Walsh (CEO, Shannon Coiled Springs Ltd.), and Tim Crowe (WorxFlo).
