17 December 2012: A cheque worth €5,000 was presented to Professor Rajnish Gupta, Chairman of the Mid-Western Cancer Foundation, by Gordon Kearney, President of Limerick Chamber. The money was raised through a raffle at the Limerick Chamber President’s Dinner in November.
Accepting the cheque, Professor Gupta said:
“We are very grateful for this donation. Valuable donations like this help the Foundation to support the services we provide to patients both directly and indirectly; for instance, to fund equipment or research projects in UL where intervention treatments are being studied and more recently, although not desirable, to pay for staff critical to our care programme due to budget shortages.”
“I would like to thank Gordon Kearney, President of the Limerick Chamber, for choosing Mid-Western Cancer Foundation and the Chamber’s members and guests who so generously supported the raffle. The donation will make a difference to the lives of those who are impacted by cancer,” he concluded.
The Limerick Chamber and guests at the Limerick Chamber President’s Dinner in November contributed to the donation.
