Wednesday 10 April: Limerick Chamber Skillnet is currently recruiting for places on a new Job-seekers Support Programme (JSSP) which will help job seekers change their careers and gain employment. Commencing in May, the IT training and work placement programme is aimed at job seekers from non-IT backgrounds. As part of the recruitment drive, Limerick Chamber Skillnet is hosting an information session on April 16th in the Limerick Strand Hotel, where attendees will hear about the programme called MS Windows 7, Desktop Support Technician.
The invitation is open to job seekers from a non-IT background who have a positive attitude to learning new skills and who want to improve their employment options with a recognised qualification.
Anne Morris, Limerick Chamber Skillnet Manager, said, “This JSSP is a front line IT Technical Support programme. There is big demand for IT people with Technical Support skills in Ireland today, so the prospect of gaining employment after completing the programme is very possible. Significantly, Limerick Chamber Skillnet are engaging with leading companies in the Mid-West region who are very keen to take a number of successful participants from the program and offer them employment opportunities in their companies. This is a golden opportunity for job seekers to complete highly valuable and sought after IT transition training and then get a job opportunity afterwards.”
The programme begins on May 7th and runs for 20 weeks including a work placement of 6 weeks. The entire training programme has been developed by Future People management and training experts.
Interested participants are encouraged to visit website www.limerickskillnet.ie for more information or contact Anne Morris on 061 217608. Email CV and cover letter to amorris@limerickchamber.ie
