Limerick Chamber has appointed Dr Órlaith Borthwick as Acting CEO while the Board of Directors manage the recruitment process for a CEO following the resignation of Maria Kelly.
Speaking about the appointment Chamber President, Cathal Treacy, said “Órlaith has an in-depth strategic and working knowledge of the services Limerick Chamber offers to the business community and was a natural fit for the role while the Board of Directors go through the recruitment process”.
Órlaith holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Limerick and has overseen the Chamber’s policy and lobbying function for the past seven years.
Speaking about her appointment, Dr Borthwick said “I was delighted to be offered the opportunity by the Board to take over the reins in the interim. The Chamber has a great team who provide a range of invaluable supports to businesses across the region. I look forward to ensuring that the Chamber continues to provide services that are relevant to our members and meet business needs; accurately representing the voice of our members to drive efficiencies and deliver competiveness for them”.
