Coaching and Mentoring- 17th April 2026

Module Description: The purpose of this module is to equip the learner with the knowledge, skill and competence to utilise a range of advanced personal andinterpersonal skills as part of a Coachingand Mentorship Program which they will facilitate as the assigned Mentor to an employee(s) who may or may not be a direct report.

Evaluate the principals and best practice for Professional Development

Identify the personal qualities and skills needed for effective participation in a chosen job or organisation, to include opportunities for further personal development andassociated action plans

Understand anddifferentiate between Skills, Knowledge andCompetency ; Review the design of skills assessment templates for both Technical andBehavioural Skills assessment
LO4
Understand the principals of skills Mentorship and how it differentiates from career coaching
LO5
Understand the qualities of a good Mentor and how the matching process works in practice
LO6
Assess the role of mentorship in the development of technical andbehavioural skills competencies.
LO7
Design and use a practical PDP (Personal Development Plan) to support a skills mentorship program
LO8
Evaluate how organisations use development tools (team meetings ; employee 1:1s ; Review process etc) to manage the inputs and outputs of a well designed Mentorship Program.
LO9
Evaluate some useful tools and techniques used to support a Mentorship Program 
LO10
Assess and evaluate Ethical considerations in healthy MentoringRelationships
 

 

This module can be taken alone, or can be stacked with 5 other modules to build a 6 module, UL accredited “Professional Skills for Industry” accreditation.    Either way, register here to start out with.

Fees/Admission

Per person fee for this one day stand alone module is €195 per person, inclusive of Limerick Chamber Skillnet discount.

Eligibility:  This course is only available to employees of a company registered in Ireland, and must paid for by a company or sole trader.  It is not available to employees of state/semi-state bodies or charities.
