Limerick Chamber is delighted to welcome members and guests to an evening celebrating the long partnership between Limerick and Germany. From Siemens-Schuckert’s work on the Ardnacrusha hydroelectric station in the 1920s to Krups’ landmark Limerick factory, German investment has helped shape the Mid-West economy. Join us to celebrate that shared history and make the connections that will drive the next chapter.
Guest speaker: Dr Mervyn O’Driscoll
Dr Mervyn O’Driscoll of the School of History, University College Cork, is the author of Ireland, West Germany and the New Europe, 1949–73: Best Friend and Ally? In a short talk, he will reflect on how Irish-German economic ties have developed and what they could mean for the future.
