How LEAN Can Work for Businesses of All Sizes & Sectors
Lean can deliver benefits to businesses of all sizes and sectors. This includes improvements in cash flow, sales, productivity, waste reduction, lead times, employee engagement, quality and customer service. Unfortunately, the jargon and the sheer variety of tools and approaches available can be a major barrier to adoption of lean by many businesses. Where do you even start? Limerick Chamber Skillnet will introduce the concept of lean business thinking, explain the lean principles, and discuss how they apply to your business. Our goals are to:
a) explain lean in simple terms; its origins and its focus on delivering value to the customer
b) discuss the relevance of lean for different business sizes and sectors
c) give examples of lean in manufacturing, services, retail, distribution and healthcare
d) identify state supports for implementation of lean, including a programme available through Limerick Chamber Skillnet in association with ManagementWorks
