N/M20 Limerick to Cork
Improvements required to the N20 was identified in 1998. This was stated as a Government objective in the 2000-2006 National Development Plan. In 2008 a study was commissioned and in 2010 proposals were lodged with An Bord Pleanála (later withdrawn.) In 2022 a preferred route was identified.

- Public consultations: Public Consultation commenced on the 19th November 2020 and following great interest from the public the original closing date of 18th December 2020 was extended to the 15th January 2021. Advertising of the event was repeated in 8 national and regional newspapers, on 3 local radio stations, local authority websites and social media, displayed in 7 public buildings and a targeted letter drop was undertaken.
