Shortlist announced for Limerick Chamber Regional Business Awards

The Limerick Chamber Regional Business Awards 2014, sponsored by LIT, will be hotly contested by 20 companies across 7 categories.  The winners of the categories, as well as the 2014 Overall Business of the Year and the President’s Award, will be announced at the Limerick Chamber President’s Dinner, on Friday 21 November in the Limerick Strand Hotel.

 

The awards aim to give businesses a platform to showcase their accomplishments and highlight the business achievements, innovation and excellence in the region.

 

Announcing the shortlist, Dr Órlaith Borthwick, Limerick Chamber Interim CEO, said, “Across 7 categories many leading and upcoming companies from the region have shown that they are at the forefront in supporting their customers through innovation, expansion  or service performance that has led to a significant increase in business.  Congratulations to all who have participated and best of luck to those short-listed.”

 

Dr Maria Hinfelaar, President, Limerick Institute of Technology, who are headline sponsors of the Awards, said, “The Limerick Chamber Regional Business Awards are about highlighting and celebrating business achievements, innovation and excellence in the region.  I would like to congratulate those companies who are in contention for an award – that in itself is an achievement given the calibre of entries received.”

 

Almost 100 entries were submitted across 7 categories.

The Awards are judged by a panel of industry experts drawn from the senior management teams of sponsors; Colin McLean, Head of Faculty of Business & Humanities, LIT, Paul Nestor, Taxation Partner, BDO, Dr Pat Daly, Director of Economic Development & Planning, Limerick City & County Council, Terry Heaney, Partner, Holmes O’Malley Sexton and Kieran Martin, Senior Business Manager, Bank of Ireland.  Secretariat was provided by LIT.

 

About the Awards

Now in its fourth year, the annual Limerick Chamber Regional Business Awards celebrate excellence in business across 7 categories.  Samco Agricultural Manufacturing Ltd, Northern Trust and Cook Medical are past winners of the Overall Business of the Year Award.

Previous winners of the President’s Award include Rose Hynes, Paddy O’Sullivan and Denis Brosnan.

The Limerick Chamber President’s dinner will be held in the Strand Hotel on the evening of Friday 21 November.  The event is the most prestigious business event in the region. Over 440 guests will attend the black tie gala event this year.
