Limerick Chamber Skillnet, in conjunction with Munster Bovine, are delighted to offer this Department of Agriculture approved DIY AI course, delivered by a Munster Bovine company vet and experienced Munster Bovine AI technicians. Improving the genetic merit of both dairy and beef animals is central to improving the overall sustainability of both dairy and beef production in Ireland, from an economic, environmental and social perspective.
DIY course content includes:
- Estrus cycle
- Semen handling, storing and transport
- Heat detection – optimum time for AI
- Legislation
- Hygiene & biosecurity
- Animal welfare
- Herd reproductive performance
- Insemination techniques
Date & Time: Monday 4th – Friday 8th September 2023. 5 full day course, 11am to 4pm for theory/practical days in Munster Bovine, Mallow, Monday and Friday (lunch included). 10:30 to 1:30 for on-farm days in Dromcolliher, Tue, Wed, Thurs
Location: Two theory / practical days at Munster Bovine headquarters, Mallow on Monday and Friday. Three On-farm practical days in Drumcolliher area (exact address to be provided to registrants closer to start date) on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Fees/Admission: Per person fee without Limerick Chamber Skillnet Discount; €750 – Per person fee with Limerick Chamber Skillnet Discount: €500. Please note Skillnet discount is only available to companies and sole traders registered in the Republic of Ireland and to non-governmental organisations.
