Energy on the Estuary 2026, taking place on 28th April from 12:00pm to 2:30pm at Europe House, Chatham Street, Dublin 2.
This event brings together key stakeholders from across industry, government, and the energy sector to explore the strategic importance of the Shannon Estuary in shaping Ireland’s energy future.
From a regional development perspective, the Shannon Estuary represents one of Ireland’s most significant yet underutilised assets. With its deep-water port infrastructure and proximity to major industrial hubs, it has the potential to become a cornerstone for balanced regional growth – supporting high-value employment, attracting investment, and strengthening economic resilience of the regions.
Equally, from an energy security standpoint, the Estuary is central to Ireland’s transition to a low-carbon, secure energy system. As Ireland seeks to diversify its energy mix and scale up renewable generation, the region is uniquely positioned to support offshore wind, hydrogen production, and other critical energy infrastructure and sources. Ensuring a coordinated policy and investment approach will be essential to unlocking this potential – this is particularly relevant for those businesses which have an extra extra-large energy need such as manufacturing, data centres and the next generation of business.
The event will feature expert panel discussions with leading voices from industry and the energy sector, who will share insights on infrastructure, investment, and policy requirements.
We are also honoured to welcome a keynote address from Minister Timmy Dooley, who will provide valuable perspective on the Government’s priorities in this space.
