Budget 2026: Limerick Tax & Economic Briefing

Limerick Chamber, in association with PwC, hosted a Breakfast Briefing on Budget 2026 on Wednesday, 8 October, bringing together business leaders, policymakers, and experts to unpack the key measures announced by the Minister and their implications for businesses and the wider economy.

The session, held at an early start, featured detailed insights from PwC’s tax specialists, including an update from Joseph Ahern on the latest tax measures and incentives, and an overview from John O’Loughlin, PwC Ireland Customs and Trade Leader, on the evolving landscape of tariff developments and international trade impacts.

Adding valuable academic and regional context, Professor Eoin Reeves of UL’s Kemmy Business School shared his analysis of the economic implications of Budget 2026, while Sean Golden, Limerick Chamber Chief Economist and Director of Policy, joined him in a panel discussion exploring the budget’s ramifications for the Midwest region and Ireland’s competitiveness.
