Limerick Chamber welcomes new chapter in the history of Limerick

And urges Councillors to protect local jobs by supporting local businesses

Limerick Chamber has today (10/6/14) congratulated the recently elected members on securing their seat on the historic newly amalgamated City and County Authority.

Maria Kelly, Limerick Chamber CEO said that “the newly amalgamated authority is a milestone in the history of Limerick. Limerick is spearheading and delivering a new form of local government for Ireland. Limerick Chamber strongly lobbied for this merger and we look forward to working with the newly elected councillors in delivering an exciting vision and future for businesses across all of Limerick.

“Recent times of uncertainty and fear have eroded both consumer and business confidence. Now is the time for Limerick’s new local authority to work for their constituents by supporting business thereby ensuring job security and generating new employment potential. This is the most powerful tool available to our elected representatives and the most effective way to support economic prosperity for our region” concluded Ms. Kelly.
