Limerick Chamber has welcomed the announcement by Ryanair that it is to introduce 8 new routes and increased frequency on the Stansted route from Shannon in April 2014, which will deliver 300,000 additional passengers p.a. and support 300 new on-site jobs at Shannon.
Commenting on the announcement, Dr Fergal Barry, Limerick Chamber President said:
“Having lobbied for independence for Shannon airport and the abolition of air travel tax, Limerick Chamber is delighted with the announcement from Ryanair today. Their introduction of 8 new routes bringing potentially 300,000 passengers to the region will have a significant impact on the local and regional economy. The routes to Paris and Munich will be of particular interest to business travelers.”
